One of our 2008 Missions teams will be going with Joni & Friends to Peru to provide wheelchairs and assistant to the handicapped in that country. The wheelchairs will be shipped overseas to meet up with our short-term missions teams: We will custom fit each wheelchair specifically for each recipient and train him or her in wheelchair use and upkeep. Team members also give each recipient a Bible and communicate the message of God's love for them. Speaking and teaching teams will equip the local churches and communities in disability ministry. Construction teams will build accessibility for the disabled, modify homes, churches, and clinics, as well as meeting other construction needs. Past Missions Projects Uganda Project Butebi is a very small village on Lake Victoria in Uganda that did not have a church. WE helped the local villagers build a church and 23 children gave their life to Jesus the first Sunday.

Costa Rica Project Extreme Home Makeover - Jesus Style! We tool twenty skilled men and women to Costa Rica and constructed a home for a family on behalf of the government and the church. The work took Four days and on the morning of the fifth day we handed to the keys to a family in desperate need of a place to live.

Kenya Project Our Team built a church and an orphanage about 48 Kilometers north of city of Kisumu. There were no utilities such as electric or phones in that area, so we used a generator at the construction site. We hired over fifty local workers to help with the project for two weeks and built deep relationships with many people in the community. Within the two weeks we completed the church and orphanage, graded for the foundation of the next building and saw 103 men women and children baptized on the first Sunday. We had the opportunity to be part of the lives of so many and share Jesus as we worked together. |
