DAILY AGENDA

Day 1             
Leave LAX in the late afternoon. Meals and movies will be
included on the flight.

Day 2             
Our layover in London is 10 hours. We will deplane and be met at the airport by a bus that will take us to the British Museum. It is the oldest public museum in the world and holds antiquities from all over the world through every period of human history. There are amazing exhibits from Bible history that will greatly enhance many of the places we will visit in Israel.. Then we will take a stroll along St. James Walk, the Thames River, past Westminster Abbey, Parliament, through Hyde Park and to Buckingham Palace. If time permits we will take a short ride to St. James Cathedral. We will enjoy dinner at Dr. Johnson’s Pub then return to the airport for the evening flight to Tel Aviv.

Day 3 
Upon our early morning arrival in Tel Aviv we will meet our tour Guide and bus driver for our time in Israel and be on our way to Jerusalem. On the way we will stop at the Moshav Yad Hashmonah where we will visit replicas of the wilderness tabernacle, an olive press and a garden tomb. It overlooks the Valley of Aijolon where the sun stood still as Joshua prayed God would give him victory over the Gibeonites (Joshua 10). We will drive up to Jerusalem from the south and stop at an outlook where we will have a panoramic view of the Old City from the South. This is called the “Hill of Bad Decision’ from the days of Solomon when he placed idols of other god’s to please some of his wives.  Next we will travel to the Mt. of Olives. This location is the last place Jesus stood before he ascended into heaven and scripture says when he returns he will step foot on this spot. It overlooks the Eastern wall of the Old City and the Golden Gate and gives you a breathtaking view of the Temple Mt. After this we will be taken to our hotel just a short walk from the Old City’s Zion Gate. Then we will travel to our hotel for a good rest.

Day 4 
Jerusalem
– Today we will discover the city of God and why it is the most holy city in the history of the world. We will travel to the Israel Museum to see a full one acre scale model of the ancient city of Jerusalem in the time of Christ. It is a must see for every visitor to Israel as a replica of the great Temple and the city as it was when Jesus walked here. It also contains the Dead Sea Scrolls. Then we will enter the city through the ancient Jaffa Gate and walk to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Cardo, Broad Wall, Wohl Museum, Burnt House and the Temple Institute, (Lunch in the Jewish Quarter), Western Wall, Temple Mount, Southeastern Wall, City of David, Warren’s Shaft and Hezekiah’s Tunnel.

Day 5             
Today we drive south into the Negev along the Dead Sea to Masada. It is an ancient fortress built by Herod the Great. It became the last defense for a band of Jewish rebels known as ‘zealots’ and sets 2,500 ft above the Dead Sea. Next is the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the face of the earth with a salt content of over 30%. We’ll have a chance to swim in the Dead Sea. Then we’ll visit En Gedi, the place a young king David hid from Saul, where he penned the words “As the deer pants for the water” and “God is my rock and my fortress.” On the way back we will stop at Qumran where the Essene community vowed to protect the ancient scrolls. In 1948 a shepherd boy chasing his goat made one of the greatest archeological discoveries of modern time of what have become known as “The Dead Sea Scrolls.” Finally, we’ll visit a full size replica of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. In the evening we will take a tour of the foundation stones under the Western Wall of the Temple Mount.

Day 6 
In the morning we will meet with members of the Israel Knesset.  Then we will travel south to the ancient city of Lachish and then to the Valley of Elah where David killed Goliath, then a stop at Tel Gezer, one of the largest archeology sites in Israel and the famous Bell Caves. Then we will return to Jerusalem for preparation for the Sabbath. At sundown we will visit Temple and then go the Western Wall for Shabbat. 

Day 7             
We will leave Jerusalem early the next morning to travel north into Galilee. Our first stop will be at Caesarea Maritima, the place where Peter went to Cornelius’ house and Paul was imprisoned for two years. It was also the home of Herod and Pilate. It is a beautiful seaport on the Mediterranean Sea. We’ll also get to visit an ancient aqueduct here. As we leave there we will travel to Mt. Carmel where Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal and have a spectacular view of the Jezreel Valley.  Lunch will be at a Dru’s village. Then we’ll move on to the ruins of Megiddo on the southern side of Jezreel. On to Nazareth, the place of Jesus youth, we will see a replica of the shop where Jesus worked as a carpenter. If time permits we will make a short stop at Sepphoris and Cana. We’ll sleep in bungalows on the shore of the Sea of Galilee in a Kibbutz called Ma’aggan tonight.

Day 8             
In the morning, we will sail across the Sea of Galilee on the Jesus Boat to Tiberius. We will have Sunday morning worship on the Sea. After landing at Tiberius we will travel to Mt. Arbel, which will be one of the highlights of the entire trip. It is a high place that looks out over all Galilee.  We’ll have a great time of worship at Mt. Arbel.  Nof Ginosar is our next stopping place today. It is a museum showing an ancient fishing boat from the time of Christ. This is the best place in Galilee to shop.   Then we will tour the ancient synagogue in Chorazin where Jesus taught. We’ll then go to Capernaum, the home of several apostles and where Jesus stayed when in Galilee. Our last stop of the day will be at Bethsaida.  Back to our hotel for a campfire on the Sea of Galilee that night.

Day 9             
This morning we will go to the Mt of Beatitudes where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount and then the Cove of the Sower. Our trip will continue on through the Hula Valley, then travel north to the ancient city of Dan, which was a place of pagan sacrifice. Next it’s on to the city of Banyas also known as Caesarea Philippi where Jesus asked Peter, “Who do you say that I am?”  Then onto Golan and Mt. Bental Kibbutz Elron. Heading south, we’ll go to Gamla, the northern Masada. We’ll end up back at our hotel on the shores of Galilee for dinner and sunset.   

Day 10                       
We will leave Galilee and go up to Jerusalem south along the Jordan River. We will stop at a secluded place at the Jordan River to baptize any one who would like to be baptized in the Jordan. From there we will travel to the springs of En Harod where Gideon chose his army of 300 from 10,000. Along the Jordan River we will stop at Bet She’an. This is one of the largest archeological sites in all of Israel and was one of the ten cities referred to in the New Testament as The Decapolis. This is where King Saul’s body was hung on its walls after his defeat. On our way we will stop at Gilgal where the children of Israel crossed the Jordan River to enter into the Promised Land. Along the Jordan River, we will follow the path the Jews would travel from Galilee to Jerusalem.

Day 11           
Back in Jerusalem for the last three days, we will see the Shrine of the Book – Dead Sea Scrolls, Yad Vashem – Holocaust Museum.  We will spend the afternoon exploring the Old City and walk the Via Dolorosa and David’s Tower. Then we will travel to Bethlehem and be hosted by a Christian church for dinner and a trip to Shepherds Field.

Day 12                       
We will spend this day in Jerusalem, with some tome at the Knesset and meeting with people in dignitaries in Jerusalem, Chief Rabbi of Israel Shlomo Amar, and Natan Sharansky. We will also visit Bridges for Peace, Ammunition Hill and take walk down along the tunnels along the base of the Temple Mount and spend time at the Southern Steps of the Temple Mt. and the Pool of Siloam.  

Day 13
We will travel the route taken by Jesus on his last day. Beginning with the Upper Room, we will travel outside the wall of the Old City down through the Valley of Kidron past the Tomb of Absalom and up into the Garden of Gethsemane.  We will visit the Church of the Nations and the cave where the disciples spent many nights praying in the Garden. As we leave the garden we will go back into the city and walk the Via Delarosa which is the path that Jesus carried the cross to this place of the skull. Just a few steps away is the Garden Tomb, where we will spend time in prayer and communion.  The rest of the afternoon will be free time in Jerusalem. 

Day 14
We will leave Tel Aviv and fly back to Los Angeles.
